Stone Ginger Beer Bottles

Ginger beer bottles are one of the most collectable of all the Victorian bottles. They come in several shapes and sizes, ranging from the plain salt glazed impressed type, slab sealed , standard , champagne , and skittle shapes.

Closures come in either cork, internal screw, or bale stopper types. Patent gingers are unusual, but the best known of the patented gingers are those with the galtee more closure - a hole through which a pin was inserted to prevent cork loss.

Ginger beer come with coloured tops and coloured transfer varieties, but these are uncommon and very desirable.

The bottles in this section are just a small collection of the thousands of different bottles available to the ginger bottle collector.

More excellent gingers are available in the COLLECTORS BOTTLES section. Have a look at the photos sent in by Simon Franklin. More gingers are available in the PRESTON BOTTLES section.
